Maine - Summer 2014
Two trips to Maine this year provided more than just a
nice break in the routine. Maine has much to offer,
occupying its own unique space in the New England
We began our stay in Rockland, Me., home of the
Farnsworth Museum which houses a large collection of
Andrew Wyeth paintings. The Farnsworth is the perfect
place to start as Wyeth embodies the Maine esthetic.
After a few day trips of the surrounding area, we headed
north to Bar Harbor and a few days touring Mount Desert
Island. One interesting stop was Seal Cove Auto Museum
housing a very extensive collection of antique cars and
memorabilia, with an emphasis on historic innovation.
A week of sightseeing, relaxation, and good food, is
never enough, but it did serve as just another reminder
of why we love living in New England !
If you are ever headed to Rockland, Me., be sure to
consider our favorite Bed and Breakfast the LimeRock
Inn. Hosts Frank and PJ provide great food and
hospitality for a relaxing stay !
The Gallery Annex is a visual Postscript, including a few
additional abstract, graphic, and interpretive variations
on my Maine exerience.
